The BACP stands for the ‘British association for counselling and psychotherapy’.
The BACP is the main body which approves counsellors and psychotherapists. The BACP provides accreditation based on sufficient hours of clinical practice and appropriate studies. The BACP provides resources to develop and maintain effective practice.
Individuals whose core training has been in counselling or psychotherapy can join the BACP. All counsellors we work with are registered with the BACP.
The BACP provides research, guidance documents and training events. Membership also provides members with a place to share good practice and a place to be found by clients. Through choosing a counsellor or psychotherapist who is a member of the BACP, you are choosing someone who has received the appropriate qualifications and experience.
