We work with adoptive families through providing adoption support fund services in addition to educational and child psychological input. We are here to support you, your child and your family.
The adoption support fund provides funding for therapeutic services to children and young people who have been adopted, and their families. Children and young people who have been adopted may have experienced early trauma or neglect, and have attachment difficulties. Trauma, neglect and attachment can lead to difficulties later on in childhood, leading to additional support sometimes being necessary.
For more information please see Adoption Support Fund Gov.UK website page.
Of the services we provide, the following can be funded through the adoption support fund:
All of our services can also be funded through different grants, education settings of self-funded.
The following services of ours cannot be funded through the adoption support fund:
Although the above services aren’t funded by the adoption support fund, they are available to children and young people who have been adopted. The services would be funded by an alternative source.
HSR Psychology does not provide children and young people with services where there is an immediate risk of significant harm. If you are a child or young person who needs to speak to someone immediately because you or someone you know is at risk of significant harm, please contact:
Information about applying for funding and what to do after that can be found here. We cannot make applications for funding on your behalf.
If you can’t access the fund then don’t worry, you can still access all of our services. Before starting any input, we have an initial discussion to gather background information and come up with a comprehensive plan for our input. Read more about our initial discussions.
Our referral process is quick and simple and can be done online or over the phone. Each individual has unique needs and requirements which is why we have an open referral policy so we can support more families. Read more about how to make an online referral to our services.
Arrange an initial discussion to find out how we can benefit your education setting. The initial discussion lasts 2 hours and is a starting point to identify needs. The cost is £260.
