Followinga numeracy intervention, we will provide some recommendations to aid you in supporting the young person. They will be useful for maintaining numeracy progress through the individuals journey through education.
We carry our numeracy interventions after the initial discussion. please see our process below for details.
Depending on which area of numeracy the child or young person needs support with, the intervention used can vary. A numeracy intervention often gives the individual an insight into what techniques are the most effective for their progress in different areas of numeracy. If the child or young person is often distressed by numeracy tasks, they may be taught relaxation techniques to cope with distressing feelings. Numeracy interventions can take place on an individual basis or in a group.
Following a numeracy intervention, the young person or child will be able to use strategies which can maximise their potential in numeracy. After a numeracy intervention, we may suggest follow-up sessions, especially if the individual begins to struggle with new areas of numeracy. Outcomes from a numeracy intervention may be provided through either a written report or a feedback session, as needed. The HSR Psychology team will support you throughout the entirety of an intervention. This is why we always offer you the option of receiving several follow up support sessions after the intervention.
A report is always recommended after an intervention. It will include what happened throughout the intervention, the impact we made, and recommendations for the future. One of our thorough reports are available after a numeracy intervention highlighting the individual's learning style and useful strategies for progressing in numeracy. Reasons for requesting a numeracy intervention vary, and if a report isn’t needed, then we can provide feedback verbally along with a short summary. Read more about the reports we can provide.
Arrange an initial discussion to find out how we can benefit your education setting. The initial discussion lasts 2 hours and is a starting point to identify needs. The cost is £260.
