Self-image interventionscan positively impact the child or young adult in several ways, such as:
Followinga self-image intervention we will offer you some recommendations to help you better support the young person going forward. These recommendations will ensure the continued progress of the individual in terms of their self-value and optimism.
Self-image interventions can be planned following your initial discussion with ourselves. If you would like to read more about our process, this can be found below.
During a self-image intervention with HSR Psychology, the young person will learn how to accept themselves as they are. The individual will gain important techniques for dealing with difficult emotions in relation to their self-image. For example, the young person may learn positive self-talk techniques to increase confidence. The HSR Psychology specialist will encourage the young person to focus on their strengths and will encourage them to value these strengths and abilities.
Once the young adult or child has finished intervention they will be able to use helpful techniques to deal with emotional obstacles in their life. Following a self-image intervention it may be appropriate to think about planning follow up sessions for the young person. Outcomes from a self-image intervention can be given to you through an individual feedback session, or a detailed written report if one is needed. We will be able to support you throughout the intervention including the option to receive support once the intervention has finished.
The HSR Psychology team always recommends a report following an intervention, which will include what took place, what has changed as a result of the intervention and a set of recommendations for going forward. A report can be written after a self-image intervention highlighting how the individual can cope using effective techniques. A report from a self-image intervention can be used for countless purposes. Reasons for requesting a self-image intervention differ, and feedback can be given verbally if you do not require a written report. Read more about our reports.
