We help children and young people with Dysgraphia
Appropriately identifying a child or young person’s needs can lead to support strategies being put in place which may include interventions or specialist equipment. Receiving support with their needs means that an individual can:
Handwriting assessments can provide an explanation for handwriting and associated challenges, whilst making recommendations to support children and young people in their future.
A handwriting assessment can be carried out following an initial discussion, please see our process below.
Individuals will be asked to complete some writing tasks, including; copying letters, sentences or symbols, transcribing or free writing. Handwriting assessments can take place in one of our clinics across Greater Manchester, at home or within school.
The specific handwriting assessments used will be chosen based on the individual. The main handwriting assessments we use are:
There are alternative ways to assess handwriting and these will be discussed before the assessment takes place.
After a handwriting assessment we will have a clearer understanding of an individual’s needs which means that recommendations can be put into place. Recommendations may include handwriting assistance, specialist equipment, interventions or further assessments.
Reports are available following a handwriting assessment on request. Verbal feedback is also an option. In some cases a report may not be necessary until an intervention has taken place. These options will be discussed during the initial discussion.
Arrange an initial discussion to find out how we can benefit your education setting. The initial discussion lasts 2 hours and is a starting point to identify needs. The cost is £260.
