Specific work will be discussed during an initial discussion when needs and requirements are better understood. Please see examples of life skills work below.
Life skills work is bespoke according to an individual’s needs and circumstances, which means that the content of the sessions will vary. During life skills work we may carry out assessments, interventions, or put practical recommendations into place. We can also provide consultation to home, education or community settings around an individual’s specific needs and requirements.
When life skills work takes place within a group it facilitates the promotion of social skills and provides peer support during activities. Group work will include encouraging children and young people to support each other when developing life skills. Through supporting each other they are learning the life skill of supporting and encouraging others. Group work can also provide a safe space to try out new or developing life skills which helps individuals who become anxious at the thought of trying new things. Working with peers also encourages the sharing of strategies which may already be helping a member of the group.
Usually life skills work for organisations and education settings involves supporting the widespread of good practice to embed life skills throughout the education setting. Our consultancy services are bespoke for each education setting and can include; training, policies and advice. Promoting life skills through education helps young people to become happy, safe and ready for life’s challenges.
After life skills work an individual should have, or be developing, the appropriate life skills required for their situation. Follow up support is available should needs or circumstances change.
Life skills services prepare individuals for adulthood, further education, independence and employment. Life skills services include; assessments, interventions, consultancy and training. To arrange an initial discussion or to find out more please contact us.
