There is an increasing number of young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) within Mainstream secondary schools. Some secondary schools have found that current educational psychology provision may be limited due to the increased number of students with SEND in Mainstream secondary schools and the process of Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans. Our specialist psychology service is here for secondary schools to meet the needs of students with SEND and complex needs.
Schools, including early years providers, and post-16 settings can also be commissioners in their own right. Schools have a notional SEN budget and many schools will commission services...to support pupils.
We provide a broad range of clinical, counselling and educational psychology services for varying levels of need within Mainstream secondary schools. We offer services on an individual, targeted and whole school level to improve outcomes and facilitate long-term sustainable change within secondary schools. Our individual, group and whole school approaches can be used in a preventative way before problems escalate. Our specialist psychologists also provide consultancy services according to budgets and requirements. Read more about the range of school services we offer.
We provide services to promote social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) and emotional wellbeing.
Recently there has been an increase in awareness and government policies relating to mental health and wellbeing among students in secondary schools. Providing young people and staff with strategies and techniques to deal with mental health and wellbeing increases progress and attainment in addition to being happy, safe and ready for life’s challenges.
Our psychology services can be easily commissioned on a standalone basis and through a service level agreement. school commissioned services facilitate the use of our services in the best way to suit schools’ needs. Commissioning our services can be done at any point within the academic year.

Early identification and intervention is an effective method of reducing the impact of SEND on a young person’s future, giving an increased chance of living happy, healthy and fulfilled lives. We work with schools to put procedures in place for preventative measures, early identification and intervention of SEND. Early identification relates to the onset of needs, rather than age, meaning that there are plenty of opportunities for early intervention throughout secondary school. Young people should be confident and ready to transition to their next stage of life which may include post-16 education or employment. We provide immediate access to our team to maximise a young person’s development and achievement. Immediate access facilitates early identification and early intervention to reduce the impact of barriers to learning in addition to mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties.
