We will assess stress related needs through three different measures. These are: standardised tests, questionnaires and clinical interviews.
Our psychologists may want to ask about the child or young adult’s stress related symptoms, potential sources of stress they have identified and the impact of them on a day-to-day basis. This could be done directly with the child or young person, or indirectly with the adults who know them best.
The direct work we do could include clinical assessments, observations, and surveys whereas our indirect assessments may include having conversations with relevant adults in the child or young person’s life to get a better picture of their needs. Both of these types of assessments will allow us to develop and carry out a plan to help manage stress which will best support the individual’s unique needs.
Post-assessment, we identify the child or young person’s stress related needs in order for us to recommend the next steps to you, which may include a specialist intervention. A specialist intervention reduces the risk of any stress related difficulties escalating. Any needs that we identify will be included in a brief or comprehensive report if requested. Any steps for the future as well as reports that you request can be talked about and elaborated on in the Initial Discussion.
We offer various interventions appropriate for many difficulties which may be triggered by stress. We may also suggest alternative approaches and recommendations for reducing stressors and coping with stressful situations.
Depending on the situation and the nature of the child or young person’s stress, our psychologists may suggest a direct or indirect approach to intervention.
Chosen interventions will depend on the individual’s unique circumstances. Some of these Interventions include:
The intervention or combination of interventions will be discussed prior to starting to make sure it fits the individual’s situation. These interventions provide the young person and their family with different strategies to help support them over time, should the difficulties return.
Arrange an Initial Discussion to find out how we can help. The initial discussion lasts 1-1.5 hours, comes with a written recommendation summary and is a starting point to identify needs. The cost is £260.

I think the work you have been doing has been great to help break the stigma of mental health and as a fellow sufferer I know how important that is.
